Lip Genève – 1965

C’est en 1959 que Fred Lip, que l’on sait déjà conquérant et novateur est le premier étranger autorisé à créer une société horlogère à Genève ! Les Lip Genève représentent le fleuron des productions Lip avec une finition irréprochable, des matériaux de haute qualité et durabilité comme l’or et des fameux mouvements Suisses dont tout le monde parle encore aujourd’hui c’est-à-dire les ETA et les Valjoux entre autres. En 1971 alors que Lip est en crise, comme toute l’horlogerie française de manière générale Lip Genève enregistre encore des bénéfices, moins bon certes mais des bénéfices. Malheureusement en 1972 Lip Genève ainsi que Lip Italie sont contraints de fermer, les ventes ayant baissées dans tous les secteurs de manière dramatique. Pendant 13 ans la marque Lip Genève aura brillé sur le monde horloger avec des modèles capables de satisfaire les plus exigeants des consommateurs.

Nous présentons ici un chronographe trois compteurs dit « panda » de toute beauté, très élégant et à la finition irréprochable de 38,5 mm de diamètre. Il est équipé d’un mouvement Vénus 178 à remontage manuel.

Une montre extrêmement rare sur le marché au regard du peu de pièce produite. Cette montre se vendait il y a encore quelques mois entre 10 et 12.000 euros. Donc n’hésitez pas trop longtemps.

The Lip Genève watches represent the jewel in the crown of Lip production, with an irreproachable finish, high quality and durable materials such as gold and the famous Swiss movements that everyone is still talking about today, i.e. the ETA and the Valjoux among others. In 1971, while Lip was in crisis, like the French watchmaking industry in general, Lip Genève was still making profits, albeit not as good as before, but they were still profits. Unfortunately, in 1972, Lip Genève and Lip Italy were forced to close, as sales had fallen dramatically in all sectors. For 13 years, the Lip Genève brand shone on the watchmaking world with models capable of satisfying the most demanding of consumers.

Here we present a three-counter ‘panda’ chronograph, 38.5 mm in diameter, that is a thing of beauty, very elegant and impeccably finished. It is equipped with a hand-wound Venus 178 movement.

This is an extremely rare watch on the market, given how few are produced. Until a few months ago, this watch sold for between 10 and 12,000 euros. So don’t hesitate too long.
